2022 YLWF Summer Program

2022 YLWF SUMMER PROGRAM

Young Leaders for Wild Florida Summer Program is a two-week part time summer program sponsored by Alachua Conservation Trust that engages Alachua County teens to become Florida’s next generation of environmental leaders. Participants spend most of the program outside, exploring North Florida’s diverse natural areas through outdoor adventures and hands-on conservation fieldwork with the trust’s staff.

Students also explore a wide variety of environmental issues and careers in the field and discover their own potential as environmental advocates through student-directed projects.  Students are be encouraged to develop their creativity, problem solving, and relationship with nature during the program, and they can look forward to discovering incredible wild places with peers and mentors while gaining skills and inspiration they can take to college, their careers, and a lifetime of leadership and stewardship.  
Dates: July 11th- July 22th, 2022

​Who can apply:  Alachua County Youth (ages 16-19)

Cost: The cost to participants is donation based to remain accessible to anyone who wants to join. Please donate whatever you or your family can comfortably afford. Keep in mind our cost is roughly $300 
per student.

COVID INFORMATION


The health and safety of our participants and community is very important to us. As a result, we will have the following COVID-19 safety guidelines in place during our program:
  • All YLWF 2022 applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • We will encourage indoor mask wearing and social distancing, when applicable
